Harley names: The engine names that make it a Harley
As a fan of Harley, it's likely that you know a bit about Harley-Davidson Motorcycle History; how the world-famous bike got its start in a shack. Three ambitious fellas, during the well-known dawn of industrialization and engine technology, found a need that hadn't been met by current products on the market.
Motorized bicycles were cumbersome, uncomfortable beasts, that were either difficult to operate, slow, or ridiculously expensive. Enter William Harley and the Davidson brothers: these are the guys who put their grit to the test and created a motorized bicycle on the rough and muddy terrain of Wisconsin, the precursor to what we now know as the glorious Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Harley-Davidson grew to become a household name in the industry. We saw the presence of Harley-Davidson in WWII, and the company just recently celebrated its 115th Anniversary. All this trivia is textbook, but, are you familiar with all the Harley engine names? The stories of how these notorious engines came to be are interesting enough, but the explanations behind the names are something that aren't really discussed.
