Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Motorcycle Trade-In Value
Going to your local dealership for a motorcycle trade-in is considered one of the best ways to sell your motorcycle when you want to keep on riding. However, when it comes to getting your motorcycle trade-in value, sometimes dealerships can give you the runaround on what offer they are willing to negotiate.
When I decided it was time to sell my motorcycle, I had my eye on a shiny beast of a bike at one of the huge dealerships near me. So, as any riding enthusiast would do, I opted to trade in my motorcycle and kill two birds with one stone. What I wasn’t prepared for was the out the door price of my new ride, and how much of it wasn’t really taken care of with my motorcycle trade value.

Sparing you the details of exactly how many mods I had put on my bike, I thought that would boost my value by a longshot. I was surprised to learn that, nope, mods didn’t really raise the value of my ride in the least. In fact, dealerships prefer stock bikes as they will sell better to a new customer. While I realize that, sure, I had customized my ride with solely my preferences in mind, I was still a little peeved that I had sunk so much money into something I wasn’t going to wholly get back in terms of a motorcycle trade in.
So, is a motorcycle trade in one of the best ways to sell a motorcycle before getting your hands on another? Maybe, but take these tips into account before you decide to go for a trade.
